Meet Robin Anne Cooper
Whimsical is the first word that comes to mind when viewing any of ROBIN ANNE COOPER’S artwork. The process used to create her signature acrylic collages was discovered through a series of experiments. First, she sketches an outline of the image on canvas. Next, separate large canvases are painted with acrylics to develop the color palette. Then, the painted canvases are hand cut into a multitude of shapes. Finally, the cut pieces are glued, creating shapes and textures that build, layer by layer, onto the background canvas. This is extremely time and labor intensive with each piece of the collage individually painted, cut, and placed. However, this is the only way Robin feels she can achieve the rich texture and sharp lines that she loves.
Robin Anne Cooper has been tapping her creative skills for many years but has recently changed from an Internet project manager to a full time artist. Thrilled to have discovered the right outlet for her creative energy, Robin has taken the skills acquired in the business world and is applying the same discipline and know-how to get her art showcased and to the right home. Her collages create striking and memorable pieces that enhance any environment.
Throughout her adult life Robin has lived in the Netherlands, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Yet, she has returned to her hometown of Clemson, South Carolina with its unmatched beauty and deeply genuine people. In addition to pursuing her art, she is raising a son, a cat and two turtles.
Robin Anne Cooper is proudly represented by WICKWIRE fine art/folk art in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
