Meet Beth Cavanaugh

"For as long as I can remember, the magic of watercolors has inspired me. Each painting is a journey with the mixing of pigments on textured surfaces. The delicate beauty of birds in the Carolinas is a constant source of inspiration. They make the perfect companions while exploring the outdoors. My own style is a potpourri of traditional and contemporary concepts. I use my imagination to create backgrounds that possess a dreamy, ethereal quality, yet always maintain the realistic images of birds."

Beth Cavanaugh is a native of South Carolina. Her passion for art began as a child. At 12 she was one of several SC students who participated in the Tom Sawyer Project for the site of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

She attended the Columbia Museum of Art School, studying under Catherine Rembert. Ms. Rembert taught numerous successful artists at USC including Jasper Johns and J. Bardin.

Beth had an exhibit in April 2007 at WICKWIRE fine art/folk art in Hendersonville, NC. In July 2007 she was the spotlight artist of the month at the Chamber of Commerce in Chapin, SC. She is represented by several other galleries in the Carolinas. Some of her paintings are included in private collections in Arkansas, California, Florida Kansas and both the Carolinas.

She has memberships with the National Watercolor Society, the SC Watermedia Society, the Art League of Henderson County, NC, Crooked Creek Art League, Chapin SC, the Carolina Bird Club and the Artists Round Table in Columbia, SC.
