Meet Dewitt Boyd

DEWITT BOYD is a gentle, loyal, “grandfatherly man, who lives alone in Tennessee.  “I am eccentric to a fault,” says Dewitt, “but that is not my only fault. . . I call myself Old Dog.  I like to ‘chase rabbits’ and take a lot of naps.  I’ve been making a living with clay for twenty-five years, though some would take umbrage with the ‘making a living’ part. . . but, I have eight children and twelve grand kids. . . and, when they all get together, grandpa ends up on the bottom of the heap.  And Old Dog stays close to His Master.” 

“Porcelain -- fired hot – then load into a kiln packed with saw dust, slow fired with propane, the result is anybody’s guess,” exclaims Dewitt. “With black, brown, grey and white finish kissed by fire caressed by sweet smelling smoke, these animals have a subtle way of telling you about their off-the-wall creator, funny how that happens.”
