Meet Gary Caldwell

Gary Caldwell has crafted distinctive, beautiful art in stainless steel for over 30 years. He is completely self-taught, with a flair for turning flat sheets of stainless steel into lifelike, fanciful three-dimensional creations. All work is researched for anatomical accuracy. With skilled hand and 6,000 degrees of heat, flat steel takes life. After it has been hand bent, a grinder is used to texture the surface. The steel is heated with a torch to bring out the various colors... cobalt blue, burnished bronze, coal black. Each resulting piece is original and unique.
