WICKWIRE fine art/folk art in Hendersonville, NC is announcing The "2008 City of Four Seasons in Two Dimensions - Connemara Visions" Juried Exhibition and Sale of two dimensional art.  Artists will depict feelings and places regarding Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site in Flat Rock, North Carolina. 

 Entries were accepted starting Monday, September 15 through Wednesday, September 17 between 9 A.M. and noon at WICKWIRE 329 North Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina.  The competition was open to residents of the Carolinas.   Awards will total $2,000.  A special $1,000 Best of Show Award will be presented by Event Co-sponsor the Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara.  Special recognition is given to the Friends of Carl Sandburg at Connemara as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of Connemara as a unit of the National Park Service.  The Friends - a volunteer support group for the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site is an independent, non-profit organization, formed in 1988. It plays a vital role in providing a broader, more fulfilling educational experience to visitors of the park. 

William Jameson judged the event.  Jameson is a painter, exhibitor, workshop instructor, and show juror possessing a broad, artistic perspective.  From American artists to Renaissance masters, Jameson draws inspiration.  He has studied with Frank Ranpola at Ringling School of Art in Florida and taught landscape painting and life drawing while a graduate assistant at the Instituto Allende in Mexico.  OPENING RECEPTION and AWARDS PRESENTATION will be held Friday, October 3, 6-9 P.M. at WICKWIRE'S 329 N.
